There are thousands of games to choose from under different genres. There is something for all ages and interests. If you love playing video or computer games, you might find these fun facts interesting.

1. Angry Birds is one of the most popular tower defense games that both kids and adults enjoy playing. In fact, if you add the total number of hours that everyone spent playing this game, it’s equivalent to over 200,000 years!



2. Mario, the hero in the classic game Super Mario Bros., is known for jumping over the enemies and taking them down with balls of fire. But what most fans didn’t know is that he was supposed to have a gun and a rocket that’s similar to jetpack. Well, that’s based on the original documents of the game.

3. Half-Life is a first person shooter, which is the first game ever developed by Valve Corporation. Gabe Newell is its co-founder. Did you know that there’s actually a secret room in the game where the ceilings and walls are by his face? If you haven’t found that room yet, I bet you’re eager to search for it.

4. Pokemon is a famous video game that was created by Satoshi Tajiri. Various Pokemon species are trained by the masters to make them more powerful and evolve into a stronger kind. The inspiration of the game? Tajiri’s hobby when he was still a child. He loved collecting insects and he observed how caterpillars gradually change into beautiful butterflies.

5. The Nintendo Entertainment System or NES was developed by Nintendo and was released in North America in 1985. This video game console is regarded as one of the best consoles of all time. One of the games created for the NES is the Mega Man. But why is this character’s color blue? It’s not because it’s the favorite color of the designer. The reason for this is because with the limited number of colors supported by NES, there are more options for this shade compared to the other colors.

6. StarCraft is a real time strategy game from Blizzard Entertainment. Platforms supported include Mac, Windows and Nintendo 64. It’s also the first video game that was sent to the outer space. The StarCraft CD was flown to the space on May 27, 1999.

7. EA Redwood Shores’ Dead Space, which is a third person shooter game released in 2008, has scary graphics that add excitement to the game. It just shows that the hard work of the developers paid off. They had to watch several horror movies and check out photos of car crash victims to get their inspiration.

8. Lara Croft’s breasts look big in the Tomb Raider video game. It wasn’t planned to turn that way. However, the chest was accidentally adjusted to 150% by designer Toby Guard. But since the other designers thought the unintentional change looked great, they decided to keep that size.

9. Going back to Tomb Raider, no this is no longer about Lara Croft’s breasts, but about Tomb Raider: Legend’s missing cut scene. It originally had one, but it was included in the code because the programmer forgot to. So now, you don’t get a backstory of the game. Instead, you go straight to playing it.

10. Final Fantasy got its name because its designer, Hironobu Sakaguchi, was already planning to end game designing, while Square was approaching bankruptcy. But with the twist of fate, it became a hit and now in its 14th installment.

11. In September 2017, PUBG(PlayerUnknown’s BattleGrounds) set a record of reaching 1,342,857 of total concurrent players, It means all these players were active and were playing pubg.
