     China had prepared 30 airplanes, 4,000 rocket launchers, and 7,000 anti-aircraft guns to shoot chemicals into the sky so that they can stop it from raining at a stadium where the 2008 Olympics games were being conducted. These chemicals which they would shoot into the threatening clouds, will make sure that the rain droplets shrink before reaching the stadium.

2. Mass slaughtering of dogs

     In a government ordered crackdown after the deaths of three people caused by rabies, almost 50,000 dogs were slaughtered in China. The dog slaughter happened in Mouding county in Yunnan province in southwestern China and dogs were seized from the owners and beaten to death right on the spot. In the night, the officials roamed around different places near to houses creating various noises to get dogs barking and then to kill these poor animals.

3. Fortune Cookies are not Chinese

     It’s a widespread belief that, Fortune Cookies are from China. Not only that’s not true, it doesn’t even have any relation to China. In fact if there is any relation for the fortune cookie to any country, it’s with Japan and the US. There is a Japanese temple tradition of random fortunes, called tsuji ura sembei but it is quite different from the modern fortune cookies.
     Now as for the modern fortune cookies, they were created by Makoto Hagiwara, at the Japanese Tea Garden, San Francisco some time around 1890s- early 1900s.

4. China has banned Reincarnation without government permission

     So it turns out you can’t even reincarnate peacefully without government authorization in China. Jokes aside, this move is in fact a very wise one and the real motive of China is not known to many people. The thing is, China doesn’t want the Buddhist monks from Tibet who opposes Chinese government to become the next Dalai Lama. According to the tradition and their beliefs the Dalai Lama’s soul will be reborn as a new human to continue the work of relieving suffering. Now this move of banning the reincarnation without government permission will help Chinese government to choose the next Dalai Lama and thus by hoping to control Tibet.
     But Dalai Lama has been living in India since 1952 and has since said that, he will not be reborn in Tibet. 5. Millions of people live in Caves in China

     There are a lot of people who were born in caves, lived there until they got a job in the city and then moved into a concrete block house. But a lot of people go back and live in these caves by their own choice. If you think again it makes sense. The house will be warm in winters and cool in the summer, its quite and safe and its very close to the nature free from all the pollutions. People tend to decorate their house/caves beautifully and build beautiful bed rooms, living rooms etc. According to government estimates almost 30 million people are living in these kind of caves in China.
